A report released last Thursday by the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) indicates that wind and solar energy projects are on track to generate more than one-third of the world\u2019s electricity by 2030. This progress is a significant signal toward achieving Net Zero emissions targets.\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-6fabe95 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"6fabe95\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-c47cab8\" data-id=\"c47cab8\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-704da6e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"704da6e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier this year, <\/span><b>Sultan Al Jaber<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, President of the upcoming UN Climate Summit (<\/span><b>COP28<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), called for a tripling of renewable energy capacity by 2030 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fulfill the mandates of <\/span><b>The Paris Agreement<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wind and solar projects are forecasted to produce at least <\/span><b>33%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of global electricity, up from approximately 12% at present. This transition is expected to lead to a reduction in fossil fuel-based power generation and a subsequent decrease in energy prices.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RMI is a U.S.-based non-profit organization focused on clean energy. This research was conducted in collaboration with the <\/span><b>Bezos Earth Fund<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a $10 billion fund established by Amazon founder <\/span><b>Jeff Bezos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to support climate change initiatives.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The cost of solar energy, including <\/span><b>solar PV installations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, currently recognized as the cheapest source of electricity, is projected to drop to <\/span><b>$20 (\u20ac17.80) per megawatt-hour (MWh)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, down from the current rate of approximately $40 (\u20ac35.70) per MWh.
