If a solar PV system is installed and generates <\/span><b>2,000 units<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> per month, these units are directly deducted from the total consumption: <\/span><b>5,000 &#8211; 2,000 = 3,000 units<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Consequently, the user pays only for the remaining <\/span><b>3,000 units<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, totaling <\/span><b>11,970 THB<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><h3><b>The Current Situation in Thailand: Bill Metering<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, Thailand utilizes a <\/span><b>&#8220;Bill Metering&#8221;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> system, which separates the cost of electricity purchased from the grid from the revenue earned by selling excess electricity back to the utility.<\/span><\/p><p><b>For example:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If you consume <\/span><b>5,000 units<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and your solar system produces <\/span><b>2,000 units<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you might use <\/span><b>1,500 units<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> directly in your home and export the remaining <\/span><b>500 units<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> back to the grid. At a buy-back rate of <\/span><b>2.20 THB per unit<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you would earn <\/span><b>1,100 THB<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. However, during the night when the solar system is inactive, if you draw <\/span><b>3,500 units<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the grid, your bill would be <\/span><b>13,965 THB<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. After deducting the <\/span><b>1,100 THB<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> earned from solar exports, the final payment is <\/span><b>12,865 THB<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This calculation demonstrates that <\/span><b>Bill Metering<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> results in a higher net payment compared to <\/span><b>Net Metering<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
